The federal government has long been looking for ways to improve efficiency and provide better outcomes for the taxpayer. While there is no silver bullet, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) comes very close.

Interestingly, the federal financial management (FM) community is leading the way in adopting RPA to improve the efficiency of back-office operations. It may be because FM processes are often very repetitive which makes RPA a great fit, but they are the driving force behind much of the RPA push in the federal government. Led by Michael Huffman of cBEYONData, the members of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) recognized this phenomenon and decided to study the adoption of RPA within the federal FM community.

The results of our study have been recently published in a paper that is available on the AGA website. We found that while the FM community are early adopters, there is a very exciting path forward and significant automation opportunities still to come. Will it result in massive transformation? Time will tell, but those we interviewed are excited and ready to find out. So are we!

Dyson Richards applies three decades of experience and skills building federally focused IT and consulting companies to continue to enhance cBEYONData’s reputation as a leading product development and professional services firm. Dyson works with customers, government leaders, strategic partners and cBEYONData’s practitioners to align corporate offerings with the evolving needs of our current and future clients. Dyson served in the U.S. Navy where he operated nuclear power plants aboard the USS Enterprise. After 8 years of service, he leveraged his Navy roots in the government contracting industry serving in roles of increasing responsibility at Newport News Shipbuilding, Keyfile Corporation, Vredenburg, American Management Systems (AMS), RGS, USfalcon, and Xcelerate Solutions. Dyson holds a M.S. degree in Technology Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus and a B.S. degree from The New School in New York.

With this announcement, Dave Schmidtknecht is also named the new Chief Solutions Officer. Dave Schmidtknecht has over 30 years of technical and management experience in the Information Technology industry and is responsible for setting long term sales and delivery strategy for cBEYONData’s suite of products and solutions.  In his new role of Chief Solutions Officer, Dave will focus on leading the development, sales, and customer success of the CFO Control Tower and BAS solution lines.   The recent sales success and list of prospects continue to grow at a rapid pace requiring a dedicated executive to support to these solutions.  Dave will focus on providing a strong vision for the CFO CT line of solutions in addition support our CFO CT customers and delivery teams.
