Business Intelligence Developer

We are seeking a BI Developer to join a data warehouse (DW) and business intelligence (BI) development team supporting our federal customer’s financial dashboard and reporting system.  The BI Developer will work with the data team and business analysts to produce customized and ad-hoc analytics and visualizations for the agency’s financial systems users.  The candidate for this role should be a quick learner, a self-starter, and be able to take minimal customer requirements and turn them into a requested report, dashboard, and/or analytics. This is a full-time position on a multi-year contract with on-site work performed at the client’s office located in Washington, D.C.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Research and evaluate technical solutions and recommend the best course for given requirements
  • Design, develop, test, and implement WebFOCUS reporting for both new and existing applications, reports, and visualizations
  • Support administration of existing WebFOCUS applications, reports, and visualizations
  • Create and maintain technical documentation on SharePoint
  • Serve as a BI team contributor
  • Collaborate closely with technical database, business, and quality assurance teams
  • Contribute to defining LOE, timelines, project plans, and status reporting

 

Requirements:

  • Active Top Secret security clearance required
  • 3+ years of experience developing or administrating reporting applications using one or more BI platforms (e.g. WebFOCUS, Cognos, BusinessObjects, Tableau, PowerBI, MicroStrategy)
  • Strong, demonstrable knowledge of BI industry standards and best practices
  • Experience with relational databases, including an ability to interpret SQL
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and debug technical BI issues
  • Ability to rapidly learn new concepts and business systems
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail

Data Governance Consultant 

– 100% remote, must be based in Washington, DC area

We are seeking a Data Governance Consultant to join an Enterprise Data Warehouse team that supports our federal customers in maintaining and expanding their enterprise data analytics, query and report service, enterprise data warehouse, and business intelligence capabilities. The Data Governance Consultant will provide guidance and recommendations to our customer on standing up their Data Governance program, the candidate for this role should have experience with establishing and managing a Data Governance program and be able to work independently under tight deadlines. This is a full-time position on a multi-year contract that will allow for remote work with occasional on-site client meetings in Washington, DC.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the management and execution of the client’s Data Governance program.  This is a new program and the client will look to us for guidance and recommendations.
  • Develops and refines organization-wide governance processes, including change management.
  • Creates, refines, and documents team business processes (e.g., in Standard Operating Procedures and/or process diagrams) in a highly flexible environment.
  • Liaises with client SMEs and conducts thorough research of internal and external sources to develop recommendations for data standards and enterprise business glossary definitions.
  • Collects data from internal and external data sources using a variety of methods and tools. Proficiently performs data cleansing and standardization (e.g., removing duplicates, sanitization) and eliminates irrelevant data to identify and interpret data patterns and trends.
  • Applies recognized standards to data from internal and external sources and provides recommendations on how to rationalize existing data against the standards.
  • Distills complex ideas into concise concepts. On a frequent basis, creates and delivers briefs/presentations to diverse groups of stakeholders at all levels of the organization and answers questions.
  • Develops a functional understanding of current systems and interfaces among them. Provides expert-level advice and consultation to clients regarding the application of data standards in existing systems.
  • Identifies and develops enterprise data standards and crosswalks (as needed for interfaces) for common data elements across different applications and data repositories.
  • Independently synthesize unstructured feedback from stakeholders and consider relevant data to present quality business solutions.
  • Contributes to the identification of data quality metrics that identify gaps and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Creates visualizations to illustrate the storage and flow of data in the organization.
  • Creates database queries using ANSI SQL or other programming languages.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 4+ years of experience with establishing and managing Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, and/or Quality and Data Governance programs
  • Familiar with relational databases concepts (SQL Server and/or Oracle), including basic SQL queries
  • Familiar with data management disciplines including master data management and metadata management (both technical and functional)
  • Familiar with external data standardization/exchange organizations
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communications skills (both oral and written) with a focus on customer service and demonstrated ability to effectively interact at all levels across the organization to build successful relationships

Data Cleanse Developer

– 100% remote, must be based in Washington, DC metro area or Austin, TX

We are seeking a Data Cleanse Developer to join a larger team tasked with modernizing a Federal client’s Financial Management system in order to provide better data analysis, data management, automated data reconciliation, and meet new and emerging federal accounting regulations, such as the Data Accountability and Transparency Act (DATA Act). The Data Cleanse Developer will develop detailed conversion plans and will need to have experience with reviewing and correcting source data to ensure data integrity. This is a full-time position on a multi-year contract that will allow for remote work with occasional on-site client meetings in Washington, DC.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with analysts and users to define existing or new interface and/or data cleanse and conversion requirements.
  • Collaborate with functional team and design, construct, and maintain software programs in one or more of the following areas:
    • Data cleanse scripts or programs to identify and manage data consistency and quality issues in legacy systems via SQL, excel, or other data comparison or analysis tool; or
    • Data conversion scripts and routines to migrate legacy data to the Oracle-based Momentum ERP application, supporting complex business logic and utilizing database performance optimization techniques.
  • Develop technical documents, including software implementation guides and design documentation including Interface Control Documents (ICD’s). Work with analysts to ensure software components are properly documented for system users.
  • Perform unit testing and provide support to functional analysts during system testing.
  • Manage the installation of software components in the acceptance testing and production environments.
  • Implement quality assurance standards and processes for validation and verification efforts. Implement software development best practices. Seek out and implement process improvement initiatives.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years experience and Bachelor’s degree; 10 years experience if no degree
  • ETL or data cleanse experience
  • Understanding of relational concepts and proficiency with coding and tuning SQL in an Oracle or SQL Server database context
  • Experience with DevOps or DevSecOps practices and automated testing tools
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team to solve problems
  • Self-starter. Quick to learn and put new skills to use
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively handle multiple and shifting priorities while meeting deadlines. Flexibility to put in hours needed to meet tight deadlines

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Developer

We are seeking Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Developers to join a larger team that supports our federal customers in the identification and automation of processes. The RPA Developer will follow the full lifecycle of development and deployment of processes to be automated. Candidates should have familiarity with Federal Financials, experience with Momentum is preferred. This is a full-time position on a multi-year contract that will allow for remote work with occasional on-site client meetings in Washington, DC.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Map end-to-end business processes and identify opportunities for automation.
  • Design, test, and launch RPA solutions.
  • Develop RPA best practices for clients, helping them define and implement long-term RPA strategies.
  • Train clients on the use of RPA technologies and automation best practices.

 

Requirements:

  • At least one year of experience with Robotic Process Automation
  • Knowledge of database technologies such as SQL Server, SSIS/SSRS, and analytics tools is a plus
  • At least one year of Federal government consulting experience
  • Willingness to become certified in Robotic Process Automation
  • U.S. citizenship required, ability to obtain a U.S. Government Public Trust clearance

 

Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a diverse team that supports our federal customers in implementing and supporting their budget forecasting and analytics capabilities. The Project Manager will provide project oversight, task prioritization, and lead customer interactions. Candidates should have familiarity with the Federal budgeting process along with working knowledge of project management principles. This is a full-time position on a multi-year contract located on a client site in Washington, DC.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary corporate and customer-facing point of contact leading the implementation and configuration of Budgeting software for GSA.
  • Oversee and manage mixed staff of technical and functional resources, including employees and sub-contractors.
  • Work closely with customer stakeholders to meet or exceed all expectations. Constant contact with customer, able to explain the importance and impacts of decisions being made.
  • Responsible for health of the project including factors such as scope, budget, profitability, schedule, and delivery milestones.
  • Manage project-level issues and risks, including mitigation strategies and impact analysis.
  • Communicate project status upward and downward/internally and externally so that all project details are transparent and known. This may include briefing decks, presentations, status reports, e-mails, and ad-hoc discussions.
  • Manage a team of functional and technical team members (to include subcontrators)

 

Requirements:

  • Experience and understanding of complex IT projects, preferably including automation and analytics
  • Experience and understanding of Federal Budgeting and Accounting principles. Preferably experience leading similar projects in the Federal space
  • Familiarity with OneStream or a similar budgeting tool
  • Project Management experience, including demonstrated experience managing customers, technical staff, and functional staff
  • Willingness to identify growth opportunities and work internally with corporate support to create and execute capture plans
  • U.S. citizenship required, ability to obtain a U.S. Government Public Trust
